North Texas counselors cannot “just send the 504.” College Board and ACT want their own file. Dallas-area families get that file from a certified educational diagnostician who will write a recent comprehensive evaluation and a clear ask.
We list independent Texas evaluators who do SAT/ACT accommodation testing — including Dallas.

Useful history: the IEP, the 504, years of extra time in class. Insufficient as the application. The company wants a current evaluation and a disability-related reason standard timing fails. Book early. Plano-to-Dallas calendars fill, and a rushed report is how people sit the test without accommodations and try again later.
What to tell the diagnostician
Name the sitting and the ask before the first appointment. Extra time only, or breaks and a separate room too. If reading is the disability, the battery has to show it — see dyslexia testing in Dallas. A gifted identification alone is not extra time. You still need a disability-related rationale.
Ask whether they have written SAT or ACT documentation. Nobody here can pre-approve the accommodation. College Board and ACT decide. Ask whether they will revise if the first submission is returned.
The upload, not the last subtest
You should leave with a parent-readable report, a direct statement of the disability, and language you can paste into the request. Dates of testing recent enough that the company will look at them — ask the evaluator what “recent” means for the report they write.
Cost
Private comprehensive evaluations in Texas typically land around $800–$2,500. Dallas-area practices sit in that band. Confirm the written report is included. Count back from the registration deadline, not from test Saturday.
